Job Description

  • This role focuses on testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting robotic arms and PLC systems, ensuring optimal performance, safety compliance, and minimal downtime through collaboration and detailed reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and execute automated test plans and test cases for robotic arms, PLC systems, and related automation test software.
  • Interface with robot controllers (e.g., ABB, ESTUN) and PLCs (e.g., Mitsubishi) to validate motion sequences and control logic.
  • Perform system-level testing to validate software-hardware integration in robotic and industrial automation environments.
  • Collaborate with supplier development, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams to resolve defects and improve system performance.
  • Document test results, create test reports, and participate in design reviews and risk assessments.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on robotic arms (e.g., ABB,ESTUN) as per OEM and internal schedules.
  • Inspect, test, and replace mechanical and electrical components, including joints, motors, encoders, wiring, and end-effectors.
  • Monitor and analyse robot operation data to detect signs of wear, misalignment, or failure.
  • Maintain and update maintenance logs, service records, and spare parts inventory.
  • Troubleshoot issues and escalate findings for corrective maintenance if required.
  • Perform robot calibration and assist with re-teaching or fine-tuning movements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures during all maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to minimize downtime and improve robot performance.
  • Any ad-hoc tasks as per assigned by manager.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-6 years of experience in testing field with a focus on PCBA/SMT processes.

Preferred Skills

  • Robotics & PLC Interface: Familiarity with robot controllers (e.g., ABB, ESTUN) and PLCs (e.g., Mitsubishi).
